Scouting’s highest rank

Our Eagle Scouts

Eagle Scout recognizes years of growth, leadership, service and perseverance. Troop 23 celebrates the Scouts who earned this distinction—and the work behind every name.

More than an award

What earning Eagle Scout represents

An Eagle Scout has completed a demanding progression that includes advancement, at least 21 merit badges, sustained responsibility and a service project planned, developed and led for the benefit of others.

Proven leadership

Eagle candidates do more than participate. They serve in positions of responsibility and lead other people through a substantial community service project.

Planning and follow-through

Moving from an idea to an approved, completed project requires organization, communication, problem-solving and persistence when plans change.

Broad life skills

Required merit badges span first aid, citizenship, communication, cooking, personal fitness, personal management, preparedness, the environment and outdoor skills.

Service-minded character

The path asks Scouts to live the Scout Oath and Law, contribute to their communities and connect personal achievement with responsibility to others.

Eagle Scout on a college application

A credential with a story behind it

Eagle Scout can help an application stand out because it gives a student concrete evidence of long-term commitment, leadership, service and initiative—not simply membership in an activity.

The strongest application does more than list the rank. A student should explain the problem their project addressed, whom they led, what changed, what went wrong and what they learned. Those details turn “Eagle Scout” into a credible story of impact and personal growth.

Important: No activity guarantees admission, and colleges evaluate students in context. Eagle is most valuable when it reflects genuine interest and the Scout can communicate the experience authentically.

Each name is part of Troop 23’s continuing story of service, perseverance and leadership.
